FELLOWS' SCHOOL OVERVIEW

The ANZSPED Clinical Fellows' School is a 2 day workshop, held annually in conjunction with the ANZSPED Annual Scientific Meeting. The Clinical School is designed to assist Paediatric Endocrine Fellows develop their clinical and patient management skills, with the emphasis of the subject matter on topics that specifically relate to sub-specialty training. The format of the Clinical School also provides a unique opportunity to establish a formal Fellows support network. In 2025, ANZSPED will be holding the meeting at the Pullman Cairns International in Queensland.

Fellows are responsible for covering their own flight expenses to the meeting and arranging their own transportation to the Fellows School venue. Additionally, a registration fee is required to attend, calculated as 50% of the total direct costs associated with the meeting. This fee varies annually, depending on the location and venue and details will be released by the end of 2026.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this workshop, attendees should be able to;

Identify the pathogenesis and determine the appropriate treatment path for various endocrine disorders
Identify relevance of clinical literature in paediatric endocrinology

Course Requirements

Attending Fellows must be in a core or non-core endocrine training position and must be a member or have applied for membership of the Australia and New Zealand Society for Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes (ANZSPED). Attending Fellows need to submit a letter of approval from the Head of Department and a CV as well as advising the number of previous ANZSPED Fellows' Schools attended and the number of times you have presented at a Fellows' School (attending Fellows are allowed to attend a maximum of 4 Fellows' Schools) as well as clarifying your Paediatric Endocrine training level.

Participants will be required to choose from a selected range of topics from the list provided. From these topics, Fellows are required to compile a one paragraph summary for three different case studies (one for each topic) and submit online via the link on the application tab.

Fellows will then be advised if they have been selected to present one case study, chosen by the Faculty to be the most relevant to the meeting. Due to increasing numbers of applicants, preference of place will be given to people training in Paediatric Endocrinology and those who have to date presented less than twice.

Participants will be required to attend all sessions and social functions as part of the Fellows' School program. Should participating Fellows not be able to attend a social function, they will be personally liable for the cost.

REGISTRATION

This Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) is to enhance medical knowledge amongst professionals in the field of Paediatric Endocrinology. The meeting is open to ANZSPED members and Health Professionals practising in, or with an active interest in Paediatric Endocrinology. In addition, representatives from industry sponsors are permitted to attend the meeting as observers.

However, personnel from pharmaceutical, medical device or other related companies that are not sponsoring the meeting are not permitted to register

Payment of Fees

All fees are in AUD inclusive of GST. A tax invoice (receipt) will be provided for all registrants, however you must complete the online registration before the tax invoice can be issued.

All prices are quoted in Australian dollars. Payment of fees can be made by direct deposit or credit card (MasterCard, Visa and AMEX 2.2% surcharge). All outstanding fees must be paid in full prior to the Conference.

Cancellation and Refunds

Cancellations must be notified in writing to the Conference Secretariat on asm@anzsped.org

Cancellations received:

Before 5pm on XXXXXX will incur a A$150 cancellation fee;
After the date referred to in point 1. but before 5pm on XXXXXXX, you are entitled to 50% refund of monies actually received;
After XXXXXX there will be no refund.

Insurance

The conference organising committee strongly recommends that you take out insurance for your travel and attendance at the conference. The Conference cannot accept any responsibility for participants failing to arrange their own insurance.
